Known as the heart of Sardinia, Cagliari is the city that encompasses the richness of the cultural heritage of the island. Its international port is popular with tourists from all over the world, who choose Cagliari for its crystal clear sea, the sandy beaches and the amazing archaeological sites that bear witness to an ancient culture that can still be seen today in the various city’s districts.

Built on seven hills, it is a city that should be discovered not only by sea, where you can enjoy the beaches like Poetto and the coves and inlets that are inaccessible except by boat, but also walking around the city centre, with the Castello district, an ancient medieval village where you will find some of the most important monuments of the city like the Torre dell’Elefante (Elephant’s Tower) or the Bastion of Saint Remy, from which you can admire the beautiful landscape, sipping on a mirto on the large terrace overlooking the city.

Cagliari is bound by the Sella del Diavolo (Devil’s saddle) and the salt lakes of Molentargius to the east, the salt lake of Cagliari to the west, the sea to the south and to the north the mountain of San Michele and the planes of Campidano.

Poetto (in sardinian dialect Su Poettu) is the main beach which has 8km of white sand from which you can appreciate the view of the Sella del Diavolo that towers over the Marina Piccola. It is the most popular beach for the Cagliaritani thanks to its proximity to the city and for the lively entertainment offered by the beach bars throughout the year.  It boasts an attractive and recently refurbished promenade with plenty of services including bed & breakfasts, beach clubs, diving centres and sailing schools.

One of the best trips for natures of lovers is to the Parco Naturale Regionale Molentargius Saline, that was set up in 1999.  It is one of the  most important marsh lands in Europe that covers approximately 1600 hectares and is surrounded by the municipalities of Cagliari, Quartu Sant’Elena, Selargius, Quartucciu and the promenade of Poetto.

Art, history, monuments and a lively atmosphere, Cagliari is a welcoming city that will not disappoint. Here is everything you need to book your berth.  Have fun!
