A victory and a new record: the racing season Ubiquity Vento di Sardegna could not have started better for Andrea Mura who won the Rome per uno, setting a new distance record for the singles class.

The Sardinian athlete crossed the finish line on April 13 shortly before 7 ahead of Giancarlo Pedote on Class 40 Fantastica.

The racing was close in the early stages and when they approached Lipari.

After that Andrea was able to manage the strong winds and the calm, consolidating his lead in the stretch Lipari – Riva Trajan.

“Initially Giancarlo was ahead in the passage of Ventotene”  said Mura “I like Rome, it is the fifth time I’ve taken part and the fifth victory. It was a very good race, with downwind both outward and a very fast return apart from the calm that stopped me from having an even bigger record. It was also nice the derby with Pedote.  It was my first time in the match race with him, at first I thought he won, Fantastica is lighter and a young boat, but in the end it went well. ”

“It is nice returning to racing in the Mediterranean, in my home waters, after so many years in the ocean, in the midst of so many friends and fans, surrounded by so much love, gratitude and respect” – said Mura.

We at Marinanow are as delighted as the other fans for a win that shows once again the great value of boating in Sardinia.
