The event Mare SottoSopra (above and below the sea) will take place on Saturday 7th March at Bologna. It’s a programme that talks about the sea from two different points of view: from one side there are those like the sailor Gaetano Mura who live there lives on the surface of the sea and from the other there are those like world record freediver Davide Carrera who live in the deepest parts of the abyss. The first meeting is at midday at the “salone della fiera” of “subacquea Eudi Show”, while the second takes place in the historic centre of the town at the Theatre of San Salvatore at 9pm.
During the event there will be lots of space dedicated to the writings on the lives of the two sporting protagonists and films that aim to document the marine biography and the races of Gaetano Mura and the diverse projects of Davide Carrera, within which there is for example there is the film “Con un solo respiro” (“with only one breath”) taken at Cala Gonone, Sardinia, by the director Luca Rosini.
For the sailor Gaetano Mura the event at Bologna will be an occasion to talk about his next projects, including the regattas of 2015 with Bet 1128 Sailing team: the solo event Roma x1, the two man Mini Around Sardinia (non stop race around the island) with Michele Zambelli and the Rimini Corfù Rimini. At the end, there will be a talk about the collaboration between Gaetano Mura and the painter Alessandro Tamponi for the project “Faceboot”, in which, thanks to a Crowdfunding project that gathered funds from those who love ocean sailing, gives the possibility for fans to see photos of themselves on the hull of the bet 1128.
Mare SottoSopra is completely free and has been organised in collaboration with FIPIA (Federazione Italiana Pesca in Apnea) and with various sponsors including bet 1128, Salvimar and Montura. At the FIPIA stand that will be at the Eudi Show there will also be the possibility to take part in numerous interesting activities including meetings with freediving experts and quizzes on freedive fishing with the election of a final winner. Finally, for the first 250 people that either renew their FIPIA membership or new members there will be a free fish bag with the logo FIPIA.
