Kornati Marina – Biograd na Moru (Croazia)
This week we find ourselves in the heart of Northern Dalmatia, in the city of Biograd na Moru to discover a vast and boundless territory characterised by numerous paths and indented coastlines where you’ll find “as many islands as there are days in the year”.
Kornati Marina has its origins in a local business, Ilirija d.d., that in 1974, after realising the potential of Biograd na Moru as a nautical city situated near the archipelago of Kornati, decided to build the first Croatian tourist port. The business, foreseeing the importance of nautical tourism for the development of the city of Biograd na Moru and its influence on tourism in general, in 1985 enlarged its capacity with the construction of Kornati marina, located in the western end of Biograd na Moru, with over 450 berths.
Today marina Kornati covers 91 912 m2 of water and a coastal area od 39 688 m2 that makes it one of the biggest marinas in the comune of Zadar. With a capacity for 750 boats, of which 70 on land and 15 quays equipped with electricity and water, for boats up to 25 metres in length, Kornati marina was voted in the Top 3 marinas in Croatia. On top of this, the marina respects the high international standards for environmental protection, and for over 6 years has been awarded the blue flag. The three principle qualities that characterise the marina are its cleanliness, the kindness of the customer support and the high quality of the services provided. Among the many services available are: 24hr surveillance; water and electricity at the mooring; laundry service; supply of ice; public WC with free showers; collection of used oli and waster; refuelling; a 700 place guarded parking lot, and the famous Yacht Club with an excellent restaurant, that offers great fish dishes and a wonderful view of the sea. As well as this, on the water itseld each year they host around 40 regattas both national and international for every class. This means that the marina is not only a famous nautical centre but also an important point for regattas. The price list of the marine is available here. The use of water and electricity are included in the cost of the berth.
