Marina dell’Orso di Poltu Quatu is located on the north east coast of Sardinia, in the Costa Smeralda, in a strategic position, because it is easily accessible from every corner of the Mediterranean. It is the ideal destination for those who want to sail in the Archipelago of La Maddalena.

It is a fjord shown on nautical charts under the name Stintino dell’Orso, located between the Bay of Liscia di Vacca and Baja Sardinia, opposite the island of Caprera and the islet of the Cappuccini. For the approach look out for the lighthouse of Capo Ferro, which is located 2 miles NE of the Marina entrance.

In the dialect of Gallura, Poltu Quatu means “hidden port”.  It was built in 1987 with the features of a charming seaside village, with the classic round piazza from which narrow alleys branch out to reach the houses perched on the hill, offering beautiful views.

In the background you can catch a glimpse of Caprera, and it is not far away from La Maddalena, Santa Maria, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli, Lavezzi, Cavallo and Corsica.

The Marina dell’Orso di Poltu Quatu was awarded the Blue Flag in 2012 and in 2015, a prize which recognises the excellent services offered to members and boaters in transit, as well as the successful integration of the port structure into the surrounding environment, including services, security and environmental education.
