Autumn is coming, if you are looking for a safe and comfortable berth in a beautiful location in the heart of the Mediterranean, Marinanow invites you to discover Marina Sant’Elmo in Cagliari.

A look at the port of Cagliari

The port of Cagliari, now contained in the two breakwaters east and west, develops eastwards from the area called “Su Siccu” to reach the central and oldest part of Via Roma and end in the western area where you’ll find the fishing area and the new industrial harbour.

It is an ancient port that throughout history has been an important harbour for Roman, Pisan, Arabs and all those who crossed this busy highway between Europe and North Africa.  After the heavy bombings that Cagliari suffered in 1943, the port, destroyed in various parts, was rebuilt and expanded to become one of the city’s major tourist attractions today.

Via Roma, which extends throughout the historic port area, is one of the most popular and picturesque Cagliari streets, with its architectural charm of the nineteenth-century facades, its arcades and its shops.

Recently, the realization of the new harbour promenade has completed this splendid area of the city. It is a water walk from the historic harbour to the “Su Siccu” area, reaching the beautiful Molentargius salt lake surrounded by green areas and elegantly illuminated in the evening to frame the harbour and its marinas.

Sant’Elmo Marina

The Marina of Sant’Elmo is located in the port of Cagliari, in the area of “Su Siccu” in a privileged position a few steps from the centre. The Marina consists of five floating docks and a fixed jetty, for a total of over one kilometer of moorings, about 300 berths.

Moorings are equipped with 63 drinking water pumps and electricity up to 12 Kw, safe and sheltered by the winds.
Ground access is bordered throughout its enclosure perimeter monitored by 24-hour operational video surveillance system and port entry is handled via a badge system.

The staff is welcoming and prepared and speaks English, French and German as well as qualified for defibrillator interventions in sea or land emergency cases that classify this marina as a “cardioprotector”.

Guests can also take advantage of the well equipped Club House which features: changing rooms, showers, toilets, washing machines and tumble dryers. There is also a bar restaurant with a wonderful seafront terrace offering tasty traditional cuisine and the possibility of aperitifs and drinks in complete relaxation with free wifi connection.

Shipyard, storage and services

The Marina has an area of about 10,000 square metres where a wide variety of boats are housed, maintained and repaired.  All ordinary and extraordinary work on hulls of all types of materials, jet washing, sanding, sandblasting, anti-fouling treatments, mechanical and electrical repairs, and all that is necessary to maintain the boat’s efficiency and functionality.

There is also a boat rental service that will allow you to visit this beautiful coast on board a 40-feet Sciallino, equipped with all the best facilities to spend an unforgettable vacation.

A marina suitable for all your needs, both for those looking for a seasonal berth or for those who want a safe and equipped shelter in the winter months.
