Porto Sole Sanremo is one of the biggest and most prestigious marinas in the mediterranean. In the heart of the city of flowers, known for the festival of Italian music and for its casino, there is the marina that is managed by Portosole Cnis Spa where you can find berths ranging from small fishing boats to 90 metre long boats.

Draft shouldn’t be a problem here either with a depth of between 2 and 8m and if you call via radio on vhf 9 they can communicate with you in Italian, English, French and German to help you with your berthing.

The structure also hosts various commercial activities as well as two incredibly well equipped shipyards that can offer any type of maintenance service that you can imagine for boats of all dimensions including handy mechanics and qualified electricians. The tallest tower hosts the weather station, which every day checks the weather and distributes flyers with the forecasts.

Within Porto sole you can find a carwash, two bars and a restaurant-bar-pizzeria with a terrace that has a great view.  If you leave the marina you will quickly arrive at Via Giacomo Matteotti known as “La Vasca” (the bathtub),  the principal artery and the most chic zone of Sanremo, where you’ll find the largest concentration of international shopping brands, filled with sheiks and oligarchs, as well as French tourists given the relative closeness to Monaco.

This long pedestrianised street also has two cinemas including the famous Teatro Ariston (where each year there is the San Remo Festival and the Premio Tenco), the historic Palazzo Borea d’Olmo, where you can find the local civic museum, and in via Carli, one of the small side-streets, the Corradi di Sanremo library where you will find students and intellectuals. Last but not least in Via Matteotti there is the  Municipal Casino.

As well as being the city of flowers, where every year there is a ancient procession of flowered carriages, Sanremo, at Porto sole has the operational centre of the Istituto Tethys, the association that studies cetaceans (whales and dolphins) in the Mediterranean.
