Porto Cervo (Sardegna)
Porto Cervo is part of the comune of Arzachena, in the province of Olbia-Tempio in the north of Sardinia. This area, that is the true centre of the Costa Smeralda, gets its name from the shape of its natural harbour, that is pronged like the horn of a deer (cervo in Italian). The port is one of the biggest and best equipped in the Mediterranean, and offer its inhabitants many services including the possibility to do their shopping directly from their boat with delivery and catering services, laundry, restocking on fuel and collection of used oil. Together with the old port, located to the south of the town and built in the ’60s, Porto Cervo Marina also consists of the tourist port found to the east, giving a total capacity of 720 berths of which 80 are dedicated to boats in transit.
Berthing at Porto Cervo means having the possibility of admiring the most beautiful boats of the whole Mediterranean, as well as an extraordinary catwalk of yachts and famous people. Walking around the different quays and immersing yourself in the piazzas and the life of the town allows visitors to soak up the amazing views of stupendous villas built in the typical style of the Costa Smeralda and perfectly inserted in the green scrub of the mediterranean, to taste the high cuisine of the luxurious restaurants in the area and to relax by shopping in the numerous high-end shops you’ll find there. And of course you shouldn’t forget about the numerous meetings of the international jetset, the sporting events and the famous luxury parties that take place. For the lovers of sport, Porto Cervo, is the renowned home of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, organisers of important and compelling regattas, and the Golf Pevero Club considered one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world with its suggestive panorama.
The zone also has some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Sardinia: long stretches of the whitest sand bathed in crystal clear water and perfect for those who want to spend their holidays completely relaxed without the need to forego comfort or excitement. Some of the most famous beaches are beaches of Piccolo and Grande Pevero, the beach of Rena Bianca, the beach of Capo Testa (which you can see in the image below) and the nearby Spiaggia Rosa, located in the arcipelago of Maddalena that is easily reachable, famous for its pink coloured sand.
