If you are looking for a boat trip among the natural beauty of a pristine coastline of crystal-clear waters, Marinanow invites you to discover the Gulf of Orosei, among sea caves and breathtaking seabeds aboard the Motorboat Imperatrice.

The Orosei Gulf

The Gulf of Orosei, where the high mountains of Gennargentu abruptly meet the sea, represents one of the most impressive and spectacular landscapes of Sardinia.

Located along the east coast of Sardinia, it takes its name from Orosei, a small town in the province of Nuoro, located 2 km from the coast in the valley of the Cedrino River.

The gulf is divided into two different sections: the northern part, consisting of pine forests, long sandy beaches and coastal dunes that continue to its northern boundary, Cape Comino, and the southern one, made up of the end part of the Supramonte area called the Supramonte Marine, extending to the headland of Monte Santu.

For more than 40 km, this stretch of coast is characterized by imposing limestone bastions covered by centuries-old forests and the characteristic Mediterranean nature. It is formed by sandy beaches surrounded by vertical limestone walls, with deep gorges excavated by ancient rivers that have long since disappeared or swallowed by the overlying karst plateau.

The Gulf also overlooks the village of Cala Gonone where it is possible to embark, from the only harbour of the Gulf, to visit the Grotto of the Bue Marino (sea oxen), named because in the recent past they were still inhabited by the monk seals, which was a protected species during the 80’s but is possibly no longer here today.
